In Memory

Barry Silveus

Hello to all of the many friends and family members of Barry Silveus. This is Barry’s daughter, Sara, and I wanted to let all of you know that Barry passed away peacefully last Sunday, May 23, 2021 at St. Charles Hospital in Bend, Oregon. As you were all aware my dad, Barry, was sick with Covid. You don’t think it will happen to someone so close to you...but this time it did. He spent the last 3+ weeks in the hospital fighting this damn thing, in the ICU on a ventilator. During this time we received good and bad news and a lot of ups and downs and not being able to visit him was the hardest thing, however we were able to be by his side when he finally passed. I know Debbie and I both really appreciate all of your wonderful thoughts and prayers throughout his fight. He fought hard and kept the faith but God decided that it was time to release him from the struggle. I was amazed to open his Facebook and see how many friends he had. I know he loved all of you and some of you had some really great memories with. Thanks again for your support. There will be a funeral held in Bend, Oregon at his church June 19, 2021 at 2:30pm. Compass Church, 222 SE Reed Market Rd, Bend, OR 97702. Please reach out to me at saradailey17@gmail.com if you would like to attend.

Thank you Sara! I am so sorry for your loss, but I hope your words will wake up those who haven't gotten their vacination - we have not "beaten" Covid-19 and as you point out so very well we have a long ways to go.  Again my sympathy - your father was a good and fun classmate and will be remembered by all of  his classmates - Michael

Hi Sara, this is Cyndee Krumholz I am the co-chairman of the Helix Reunion. It is with a very heavy heart I have to say goodbye to a dear friend. This Covid is for real I also lost my cousin in June. We called Barry our “silver fox” what a sweet person he was. I will miss him and all his emails.
I am at a loss as to what to say other than I know his family meant the world to him. All of you are in our prayers I can only hope he is at peace, know that he was loved by all of us.
God bless all of you through this difficult time.  I will also post his obituary at our next reunion, we didn’t have the 55th due to Covid. How precious life is, I know he would have fought this every step of the way.
The Helix class of 1965 sends our love and prayers to all of you. He will be missed but not forgotten.
